Where to start?

Winter on board our sailboat is Southeast AK get's long. I'm always looking for ways to keep myself occupied and stimulated so as not to go stir crazy.
The Canvas http://www.canvasarts.org/index.htm, a local art studio, offers community classes and I've signed up for a jewelry making class. We made a simple wire ring last week and started on a band ring. Need a lot of practice on my soldering, but I love it already.
I've been doing my standard winter procrastinating about exercise. Perhaps it's come time to stop the procrastination and get to the pool for a swim, or lace up my running shoes and go for a run.
How do you break your winter blaaahs?

  1. Good question! I definitely don't get as "blah" here as I do at home... but it's almost even worse not having a good dump of snow. Playing in the snow is fun- playing in the rain isn't so much!

It's kind of silly but I actually started my blog originally to make myself do more- so I'd have things to write about. Kind of a push/pull sort of thing I guess. Just going on walks on the weekend or checking out new little shops instead of going to the same ones all the time helps me feel so not in a funk. Seeing and doing the same things every day is what makes me go "blah"!

I want to see pictures of your jewelry!

  2. Baking! Although, after a certain point it seems like my friends get tired of me forcing cupcakes on them. I started a 50 book challenge this year and that has really helped a lot with feeling blah because I have so many good books to turn to.

And running, but that seems to help with everything! It's nice to see you blogging, Nicki!
